The GSMA has nominated Elisa Corporation for the Global Mobile Awards 2019 (GLOMO), in an announcement that was made on 23rd January. The nomination for the Elisa virtual NOC is in the category of Best Mobile Technology Breakthrough (Companies more than $10million Annual Global Revenue). Others nominated in the same category include Huawei, KT, Latvijas Mobilais Telefons and Verizon Wireless & Accenture.

John Hoffman, GSMA CEO said, “The GLOMOs provide a world stage on which to celebrate the most inspirational and innovative developments across our industry, recognizing the companies and individuals leading the way in everything from 5G, to emerging markets, to intelligent connectivity. The awards attract a significant level of high-quality entries, so being nominated today is a great achievement.”

Elisa Virtual NOC is a revolutionary Network Operations Center (NOC) automation solution based on artificial intelligence, machine learning and predictive analytics that collects more data from the network than people could manually handle. Software processes and categorizes data and makes decision, whether the information requires any actions. This predictive analytics based artificial intelligence can identify and fix problems even before they happen. Elisa has 10 years of experience on NOC automation, with Elisa Finland’s own NOC being fully automated and having zero persons monitoring the alarms. Since 2018, Elisa Estonia’s NOC is also fully automated. Elisa’s experience in using AI in predictive network maintenance is the best in the world.

Kirsi Valtari, Head of Elisa Automate said, “We are honored to be nominated for the Best Mobile Technology Breakthrough. Outstanding customer quality and experience are becoming increasingly important to mobile operators. The Virtual NOC solution pin-points this – it is the best way to increase network quality while reducing cost. We are building on a decade of exploring the best ways to identify, solve and monitor mobile network faults. It is gratifying that the cost and quality benefits have been recognized by the jury.”

The Virtual NOC will be demonstrated at the Elisa Automate stand in Hall 5 5C43 throughout the duration of the Mobile World Congress.

The awards winners in this category will be presented on Tuesday, 26th February 2019, during MWC19, which is running from February 25th to 28th in Barcelona, Spain.
